  1. Woo! It’s that time of the year again. Time to pig out with your friends and family while talking about what you’re thankful for! That’s right everyone, it's Thanksgiving! Although some people don’t celebrate it due to locations, it’s a huuuuge deal here in America! Why’s that? We’ll explain. Some of you don’t know what Thanksgiving is or why it’s so important. However, here in the United States, we learn allll about it in our first years of schooling! Back in 1621, Plymouth colonists and some Indians shared a huge fall feast! It was 3 days long and was a celebration of the first biggest gathering of food they had. So, ever since then it’s been a lovely holiday about getting together with your loved ones and having a feast! Over this holiday break, we all have a lot to keep in mind and think about. Think about the people you love, the people that love you, who you’re thankful for, why, what you’re thankful for, and overall happiness and thanks for everything you have! Remember, be thankful for everything you have and get because someone else out there could have nearly nothing compared to you! Happy Thanksgiving everyone, enjoy your break! This year has had some up and downs for the news team so instead of going on and on about stuff, we decided to keep it simple to get ready for christmas! So, we added some fun games attached to this! There’s even some prizes to work for in game to make it extra fun and competitive! Scrumptious Apple Pie INGREDIENTS Double-Crust Pastry ⅓ to ½ cup sugar ¼ cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg ⅛ teaspoon salt 8 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (8 medium) SAVE $ 2 tablespoons butter or margarine Get Ingredients Powered by Chicory STEPS 1. Heat oven to 425ºF. Prepare Double-Crust Pastry. 2. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in large bowl. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with butter. Trim overhanging edge of pastry 1/2 inch from rim of plate. 3. Roll other round of pastry. Fold into fourths and cut slits so steam can escape. Unfold top pastry over filling; trim overhanging edge 1 inch from rim of plate. Fold and roll top edge under lower edge, pressing on rim to seal; flute as desired.
