  1. The SMP server has been updated to 1.12 I will probably be upgrading event/creativepro tomorrow evening. Skyblock probably won't be upgraded for a while. The uSkyblock devs seem to have taken a break from that project.
  2. I was suggesting you replace the Barracuda with a Firecuda. Having a small SSD for your OS and data in addition to the SSHD for your games, and bulk data would probably be best, since picking up a 1-2TB SSD is out of your budget.
  3. You have a Seagate Baracuda on your specs. You might want to swap that out for a Seagate FireCuda instead. In USD there there it $69, vs $49 for the Baracuda. SSHD drives are a hybrid drive that combines the large cheap storage you get from spinning rust, with a small read/write cache on a small bit of fast solid state storage. It isn't as huge of a performance increase that you would get from a pure SSD, but there is still a noticeable improvement (25-50% in some cases) over a traditional spinning rust drive at the marginal increase in price.
  4. I remember spawning in the jail. Seeing the sheep that was Baaaaad, and walking out to read the all the stuff in the help section, , and Pdavid randomly teleporting to me for a nice jump scare while I was reading the help. After that I wandered off to an area North West of the Hub and I started collecting resources, and mining stone for my Ziggurat project.

    Bread is bad

There is another Fungus commonly associated with bread also. Ergot happens to produce lysergic acid, which is used in the production of another compound LSD. Some people even say that Ergot was responsible for the hallucinations of the children during the Salem Witch trials.

    Bread is bad

@Regina I am tempted to join. How do you feel about potatoes? Clearly potatoes are a superior food. They are natural, and vegetarian. @All You know how you make bread? You have to put a fungus in it. So next time you want to eat bread, ask if fungus has been added. Say no to fungus, say no to fungus bread.
  7. I am betting your ISP is blocking ping (ICMP) for some reason, this makes troubleshooting really annoying, and finding problems difficult.
  8. So weird. Your latency seems fine, the TPS graphs and CPU/resource graphs seem to show the server being almost idle today. I don't understand where the tp lag is coming from.
  9. Not sure were to post this, I am going to start here. Download and extract WinMTR http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/ Run it Set your Options to Interval 5.0 seconds Ping size 1400 bytes Un-check resolve names Set the host to ping as play.diversitymc.net Let the trace run for about 5 minutes, and then post the results. Either as a screenshot, or just hit the 'Export TEXT' button and save, then open and paste the results. Feel free to censor out the HOST IP used in your first couple hops. I am most interested in the last 4-6 lines. The Sent and Recv column should be at least 30+. |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | n.n.n.n - 0 | 27 | 27 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | | n.n.n.n - 0 | 27 | 27 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | | n.n.n.n - 0 | 27 | 27 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 1 | | 68.179.207.130 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 5 | 5 | 6 | 6 | | 209.124.188.182 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 5 | 5 | 6 | 5 | | 206.81.80.214 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 5 | 6 | 27 | 6 | | 178.32.135.162 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 23 | 38 | 199 | 23 | | 178.32.135.169 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 23 | 32 | 206 | 23 | | 198.27.73.151 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 96 | 96 | 97 | 96 | | No response from host - 100 | 27 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | No response from host - 100 | 27 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | 198.27.73.98 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 96 | 100 | 175 | 99 | | 158.69.123.179 - 0 | 27 | 27 | 96 | 99 | 108 | 103 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider WinMTR is more useful then a simple ping/tracert/traceroute because it runs a test many times and gives an average. A single ping or traceroute is not very useful, because only a few packets are sent. A 1400 byte packet is close to the size of a typical minecraft packet. If you use 1400, and nothing works at all try lowering the size to 1280 and running the test. Please be sure to mention if you use a size other then 1400 when you submit your results.
  10. We already have a worldguard region (-500000,128,-500000) - (500000,255,500000) that denies spawning of pig zombies
  11. The directions telling you to break someone else's portal are wrong. A portal will link to the closest portal to the ideal coordinates. overworld (x,y,z) = nether (x / 8, y, z/8) So you said your portal in the overworld is at (-480, ?, -890) so take obsidian, go to the nether and build a portal close to (-60, ?, -111.25). You can have multiple portals very close, if you pay very close to the 3D distance. Distance is calculated with this formula. ((X1 - X2)^2 + (Y1 - Y2)^2 + (Z1-Z2)^2)^0.5
  12. Ugh. Sorry everyone. Mea culpa. The database server was acting up last night. Use of some new plugins on servers other then the SMP resulted in an increase in the number of connections to the database server that went beyond the configured limit. To fix that I had turned on the whitelist on the SMP server for a few minutes, and fixed and restarted the mysql server, and then fixed and restarted the SMP server. I thought I had disabled the whitelist when I was done and had it open for everyoone. I was able to login, and a couple other people were able to login. The tricky part of course is that all the people that were on the time were staff that were on the whitelist.
  13. There seems to be some kind of Internet connectivity problem somewhere today. A few people have been complaining that they can't reach the server. But we are having difficulty finding out where the problem is coming from. At the moment there are ~15 players logged in, and I am able to login without problems, so the problem seems to be regional, or related to some ISP or something. If you hare unable to reach the server today (2017-05-04 21:00:00) can you add your name here, and some information. This may help us isolate the problem. What error do you get in the Minecraft client? Can you reach this URL? https://players.diversitymc.net/ Can you ping mc.diversitymc.net?
  14. Can you tell us more about how this minigame works?
  15. I believe @Whatevahhh has been talking about continuing this.
  16. I am gonna need a screenshot, because I am not seeing your account attempt to login. What server are you attempting to login to? Are you using play.diversitymc.net?
  17. As far as I know an account with the name of 'G' is impossible. The mojang and spigot code requires in-game-names to be between 3-16 characters. You are going to need to give us your actual in game name before we can lookup anything. Please give us your actual in-game name. Or give u s the UUID for your account. Visit namemc.com to get your UUID. The UUID for my account zoredache is 5ddb9eda-cf24-4e7d-a175-efe61a2a067c. Oh, and if somehow your account actually is "G' can you tell us the exact error message you get when you attempt to login? A screenshot of the error would be useful.
  18. Develop a plugin that will randomly teleport a player to a location in the nether. I would want a plugin that accepted a command like the below. It would would pick a random x,z value that is less absolute value that is between the minimum and maximum radius, then it would find a save place near those coords to teleport the player. It must not put people above the nether ceiling, or into lava. They must have enough head room to safely breath.. /rtpn <player> <world> <x> <z> <minradius> <maxradius> I would not be opposed to just having the plugin modify the selected landing point. So if it is above lava place a small 3x3 platform of netherbrick , or if in the middle of netherrack, make a small 3x3x3 open space. Feel free to discuss or ask questions. Ideally I would like to see the source of any plugin develop be hosted on github, and I would like it to be developed in a way that it can be re-compiled by staff if needed.

  20. I have looked many times, but I haven't found a random teleport plugin that is safe to use in the Nether. As in, one that won't drop you into lava.

    Modded SMP?

Like Turbo said, I really don't know anything about modded Minecraft. I am not entirely against the idea either. One of the tricky parts is that most of these modded things seem to be targeting old builds of Minecraft, those older builds wouldn't be compatible with Bungeecord + Deluxechat, which is what we use to run multiple server instances and have chat cross-server. We could still run it though it would just be a completely stand alone instance and it would have to live in a non-standard port. I think we would require that anything be compatible with at least BanManager. We really need our bans, mutes, notes, etc to apply cross network. My bigger concern would be how long we would keep the server up if it becomes inactive. For the SMP we have more or less committed to it existing without a reset. But I really don't think we could make the same commitment for other servers, at least not unless they became really active and stayed active (unlike the vanilla server which is busy for the first couple weeks after a new release, but then hardly anyone plays it). I am not a java developer so anything we would seriously look at has to more or less be a complete package that I can just setup. Ideally a it would need to be build on well-maintained plugins/mods, or we would need to accept that once something is out of maintenance and causes bugs we will just have to shut things down. Anyway before I set anything up, I would kinda like to see what specifically people want, and I probably wouldn't want to spend time setting it up unless there were at least 10-20 players that would login and play at least a few hours a week.
  22. Ban messages unfortunately must be relatively short. From what I read, you where being disrespectful, talking politics, ignoring requests from players and staff to stop the discussion. Please read Also, the full server rules. https://players.diversitysmp.com/wiki/Rules/cur/ Staff, and other players asked you to stop a couple times, when staff told you to stop, you should have stopped. If staff tells you to stop doing something, don't continue on whining about people disregarding your political opinions or how the rules is hurting your self-esteem, and so on. I was trying to work on setting up a new server and getting messages from people about chat being a problem, you were the one that seemed to be string the pot to me, so you are the on I gave the temp ban too. Also it was effective, after your tempban chat immediately calmed down. Oh, and as far as I can tell, nobody asked you your opinions on things. You seemed to have taken it on yourself to get on a soapbox and start 'stating your opinion' about a variety of things. We are here to play Minecraft, not give you a soapbox to state your opinions about the minimum wage, biology, or whatever else.

    Helpers

It isn't cross server, but on the SMP I believe /ticket staff will list the staff online that are able to handle a ticket.
  24. I don't really know java enough to solve the problem, but a player here managed to bang out a python script that can sort the data file, and look up the UUIDs from essentials and store it in a location we can use to feed this web-based leaderboard. What is really funny is that python script runs in about 400ms. But when Autorank generates the leaderboard it takes something like 2-3 minutes. We have something like 15,000 players in our data file. https://players.diversitysmp.com/arlb/leaderboard.php Of course the real answer is that you should probably strongly consider using a sql database for both the per-server and global data. That way a 'leaderboard update' would be a simple query like 'select totaltime, playername, uuid from table order by time desc` That is, let the database server handle it. That is what databases are good for. Sorting data is what database servers are good at.
